Made for the person using them
Familiar comes first.
Choose pictures and words that mean something to the person. A photo of their actual cup, snack or destination may be the best fit. Start with the choices that are useful today.
Keep their usual ways to communicate available, including ways to say no, stop, help and all done.
About the pictures & symbols
Photorealistic AI-generated pictures of everyday objects, original editorial illustrations, simple communication symbols and historical portraits. Portrait credits and book sources appear in the Authors’ Ridge story. The place pictures are generic illustrations, not photographs of a particular school, pool or destination. The pictures are prompts to adapt, not assumptions about what a person understands.
These are picture communication cards, not official PECS® materials or the PECS® teaching protocol. More about communication choices.
Some New England favorites are original illustrations inspired by familiar brands, including Bennington Potters, L.L.Bean, Vermont Flannel, YETI, Speedo, London Fog and Craghoppers. Brand names identify the reference; these cards are independently made, not brand photographs or sponsored materials. The everyday word stays on the card.

Your photos & privacy
Photo cards are created in your browser. Your selected photos and custom words are not uploaded or saved on our server. Download or print before closing. Read about tool privacy.
Printing & cutting
Use white paper or card stock. Choose actual size / 100% in the print dialog and turn off page headers and footers. Cut just outside the navy border. Larger cards give the picture and word more space.
