What would you like to look at? Point to a picture or tap a card. Any answer is welcome.

01 · Things to look at

Where shall we start?

An AUsome Life · A shopping choice board

Generic object illustrations, not shop stock. Offer choices that are available and work for the person using the board.

02 · My words

I have something to say.

Leave time to respond. A different choice, a pause or finishing the visit is welcome.

A copy to take along

Save it. Print it. Keep it handy.

The PDF puts all ten choices on one US Letter page. Save the image to your phone if that is more useful. The board was made after our Safe Haven visit for a future browse and can be used at other shops, too.

Using the board together
  • Offer real choices and time to answer. Pointing, eye gaze, gestures, words, the person’s usual AAC or an established yes/no signal can all carry a preference.
  • A picture offers a place to start looking. Check the actual item, price and suitability together before a purchase.
  • Keep “no,” “something else,” “help,” “break” and “all done” available. Choosing to look does not create an obligation to buy.
  • Use the person’s familiar communication system alongside the board. This is an additional option, not a teaching protocol or a replacement for their established supports.

Created independently by An AUsome Life. The generic object illustrations do not represent current Safe Haven inventory or an official endorsement. Optional speech uses your browser’s available voice service; it plays only when you press “Say it.” No order is placed by selecting a card.
