The practical New England address book

Caroline’s Cart.
A little less guesswork.

The store, the phone number, and what we actually know. Because “somewhere near the entrance” is not quite a plan.

Find a starting point for shopping together in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

A useful lead. Then one quick check.

This is a growing directory, not a live inventory. None of these branches has been contacted for this edition. “Source checked” means we reviewed published information; it does not mean staff confirmed a working cart today. Call before relying on a listing and ask where the cart is kept.

Our family photograph documents one Wegmans visit; its branch and visit date are not recorded here. It is not evidence for every Wegmans listing.

Counts follow your search and retailer filters. A listed location still needs a local availability check.

State outlines: U.S. Census Bureau, simplified for regional display. Select a state to browse; use each store’s Directions link for its address.

41 listings · all require a local availability check.

Choose a sort order above. Missing a town? This first edition is not exhaustive. Check more stores below.

Ask the question that gets an answer.

“Do you have a Caroline’s Cart—the shopping cart with a larger passenger seat? Is it in working order, where is it kept, and who should we ask when we arrive?”

A cart can be in use or temporarily unavailable. Ask about the details your family needs, and follow the instructions on the actual cart. Keep the person’s usual communication tools within reach.

More stores, and the original cart.

Walmart’s current policy covers all its U.S. stores; the locations above are a selection. Use Walmart’s store finder for another town. Walmart also publishes daily sensory-friendly hours of 8–10 a.m.; check the branch page for visit details.

Target’s 2016 rollout announcement excluded some of its smallest stores. Check your Target branch rather than assuming every location has one.

A 2014 New Hampshire Family Voices newsletter reported carts in 34 New Hampshire Hannaford stores. It does not establish which branches still have them. Ask a local Hannaford for a fresh confirmation.

What happened to Caroline’s Cart’s own directory?

Older resources linked to state lists at carolinescart.com. When checked for this edition, the main address redirected to the manufacturer, Wanzl, and we could not retrieve the old Massachusetts or Connecticut lists. We have not treated those unavailable lists as current evidence.

Wanzl’s Caroline’s Cart page has product information, safety literature and a store request form. Caroline’s Cause tells the origin story.

How we know what we know.

Official store pages supply addresses and phone numbers. The cart evidence is linked separately below. Policy listings describe a retailer’s published provision; chain reports do not confirm a specific branch; older local reports need reconfirmation. No listing means “available right now.”

Seen a cart, asked staff, or found a listing that needs changing? Use “Send an update” beside the store. Include the branch, date, where the cart is kept and how you checked. Reports need review before they become confirmed entries.
