A real family waterfront trip

TRAVEL · REAL TRIPS, REAL LOGISTICS

Travel, without the fantasy family.

We love going places. We also pack familiar food, change plans, ask for help and sometimes decide the expensive shortcut was worth every penny.

Road tripsCitiesHotelsAccessFamily logistics

The point is not to conquer the itinerary.

Travel gives us a bigger map, but the rules are the same as at home: protect the things that make the day possible. That might be the familiar breakfast, the closer hotel, the pool everyone actually wants, a taxi instead of another mile on foot, or permission to skip the thing everybody else says is “must-see.”

We write the trip we actually took, including the detours, the recovery time and the choices that preserved enough energy to enjoy the reason we came.

Sometimes universal design is an elevator. Sometimes it’s a pedicab and a good song.

How we scale a trip

More is not automatically better. ♡
The tiny trip

One place, one meal, one clear way home.

The overnight

A room that actually works, something everybody wants to do and generous downtime.

The bigger trip

Anchor the essentials, then leave enough white space in the itinerary for the humans.
