A searchable New England directory of neighborhood sharing, volunteer swap sheds, Freecycle groups, and practical places to give something useful another life.
First, the official locator
The Buy Nothing Project keeps its official, location-searchable list inside its own app or account. Individual Facebook group links change, so we won't pretend a town has a confirmed group when we cannot check it.
Visit its official Buy Nothing group finder, sign in, and look under Settings → Registered Buy Nothing Groups to search by town or address. Or participate directly in the Buy Nothing app.
Find a Buy Nothing group ↗A word about this directory
Use the town and state filters below to find a real local link, then check the operator's latest hours and who may participate. Many municipal swap sheds require residency, a car sticker, or a staffed opening.
Listings link to an official municipal page, recognized network, or published organizer guidance—not a guessed social-media group. It's a starting collection, not an exhaustive map of every sharing community.
Find a Little Free Library ↗Before making the drive: Check the latest open dates, whether your town or a transfer-station sticker is required, accepted items and any fees. If relevant, ask about step-free entrance, parking, lifting or loading help, crowding and whether a pickup can be arranged without a long visit.
For online exchanges: Agree on a realistic pickup time; share your exact address privately only with the person you have chosen. Official group rules and accessibility needs come before convenience.

Keep it neighborly
Ask before driving, pick up when you said you would, respect accessibility needs and realistic schedules, and leave an item clean and working. Sharing should be a pleasure rather than another household errand.
