Family life · the shared plan

A few things we can count on.

Simple agreements for the grown-ups. Room for each person’s own way of communicating.

Illustrated family field-guide essentials
01 · Communication

Keep a voice within reach.

The familiar device, photos, objects, gestures or words belong in the plan. A charged device and a familiar backup travel together.

02 · Choice

A no changes the plan.

Offer choices that are genuinely available. Leave room to watch, pause, try something else or finish.

03 · Getting out

One good thing is enough.

Choose the main activity and an easy exit. The outing does not need a second stop to count.

04 · Handoffs

Say who has the next part.

Agree who is driving, who has the bag and who is providing the needed support. Avoid making another person guess.

05 · Privacy

The moment belongs to the person.

Ask before photos and sharing. Keep vulnerable moments, private care and identifying details out of public stories.

06 · Starting again

A smaller version still counts.

Shorten the outing, simplify the meal, or leave the task for another day. Adjust the plan without making someone earn the good part.

Make the agreements your own.
